Captain America Winter Soldier connects to Avengers Age of Ultron

According to Disney CEO Bob Iger, the plan for Captain America Winter Soldier is for the events of that film to lead directly into next summer’s Avengers Age of Ultron, the sequel to the smash hit of 2012.

This seems to agree with rumours about the post-credits scene that will follow the Cap sequel. While he didn’t say exactly what the connections will be it’s clear that Marvel is continuing it’s attempts to make a large cohessive universe that has helped set it apart from other comic book adaptations or film franchises.

He went on to state that the event of the film will also have repercussions for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. following the lead of last fall’s Thor The Dark World. This makes sense given that Captain America is an agent of the clandestine organization and that S.H.I.E.L.D. plays a heavy role in the plot.

Else where rumours are circulating that Agent Coulson could make a return to the cinematic portion of the universe. However actor Clark Gregg has coyly avoided answering questions about the rumours as he can’t say anything about the future of his character, only that he is incredibly busy.
